I go outside.
A lot.
Then I write about it.
I’m a dirt-under-the-fingernails kinda gal.
Hiking, backpacking, thru-hiking, trail running, climbing, bouldering, kayaking, fly fishing, (very) amateur watercolor painting, outdoor educating, off-trail scampering, summit dancing, lake-bagging, cathole digging, sunset skinny-dipping, sunrise coffee-making, marmot whispering, feeling deliciously tiny in grand places—I’ve done it all.
And how could I keep all that goodness to myself? I cannot. It is physically impossible. I am not designed for such things. The horror.
That’s why I delight in all manner of storytelling. I’m a nature writer, a hiking book author, an environmental journalist, and an outdoor copywriter. Because I’ve been a squirrelly lil overachiever since kindergarten, I also host the award-winning Gear Abby podcast, where I answer people’s burning questions about outdoor gear, adventure travel, public lands, and more.
So, come on in. Tool around, read a bit, listen if you want, and heck—hire me if you’re feeling frisky.
